PATRICK’S SOUTH AND CENTRAL BASEBALL TEAMS TO LOOK OUT FOR – Week 4

  • Bridgewater-Raritan- The No. 7th ranked Panthers defeated the Ramapo Raiders 11-3. Junior Matthew Lehberger had a monster game for Bridgewater-Raritan. Lehberger went 4-5 with a double, four runs scored, four steals and two RBIs. The Panthers are now 12-1 on the season.
  • Point Pleasant Beach- The Garnet Gulls have been dominant all season long. They are currently undefeated with a 12-0 record. Sophomore catcher Daniel Lubach helped Point Pleasant Beach get past Donovan Catholic. Lubach went 2-4 with a home run and four RBIs in the Ocean County Tournament Quarterfinal.
  • Westfield- The No. 14th ranked Blue Devils upset the No. 9th ranked Gov. Livingston Highlanders 12-5. Junior infielder Braedan Trajkovski went 3-4 with two doubles, a single, and three RBIs. Westfield is 11-1 this season.
  • Toms River East- The top seeded Raiders shut out nine seed Barnegat 10-0 in the Ocean County Tournament Quarterfinal. Junior pitcher Mason Pentz tossed six shutout innings and struck out 7. Pentz only allowed one hit. The Raiders will host Toms River South in the Semifinals on Monday.
  • Southern- Brady Lesiak threw a no-hitter in Southern’s 6-1 win over Jackson Memorial. The Rams were ranked No. 16 at the time. Lesiak needed just 89 pitches as he fanned eight batters. He had two hits and two RBIs as well. What a performance by Brady Lesiak!
  • St. Rose- Sophomore shortstop Peter Nolan had a huge day at the plate against Keansburg. Nolan went 4-6 with three doubles, a single, and four RBIs in the Purple Roses’s 25-5 win. St. Rose is an impressive 9-2 this season.
  • Immaculata- Even though the Spartans have lost three straight games, they are still a good team. Senior infielder Troy Rabosky had a home run in Immaculata’s first loss of the season. Watchung Hills defeated Immaculata 11-5. Senior William Hunsinger muscled two home runs for Watchung Hills. The Spartans have a 9-3 record going into Monday’s action.
  • South Hunterdon- The Eagles engineered a big four run sixth inning to come back and beat Holy Cross Prep 4-2. Aaron Zalescik and Nate Lawton came up clutch with RBI singles. South Hunterdon improved to 8-3 and ended Holy Cross’s four game winning streak.
  • Point Pleasant Boro- The Panthers were led by Senior pitcher Bryson Kirby in their 8-3 win over Lacey. Kirby threw six innings of shutout baseball and racked up twelve strikeouts. Point Pleasant Boro is 9-3 this season.
  • Donovan Catholic- The Griffins beat Barnegat 7-0. Senior pitcher Jake Marciano recorded his third shutout of the season. Marciano struck out a career-high sixteen batters in the win against Barnegat. Donovan Catholic is 9-5 this year.
