TOP 5 SMALL SCHOOLS (Group I & II)

1. Vernon- The third-seeded Vikings got past 15th-seeded Pequannock in the N1G2 (North 1, Group 2Tournament) first round behind Alex Fessel’s 16-pointeffort. Vernon was able to come away with the 63-50 victory despite Pequannock star Karson Culuko scoring 31 points. The Vikings will face sixth seeded High Point in the quarterfinals on Monday.

2. Madison- The fourth-seeded Dodgers breezed past 13thseeded McNair 69-49 in the N2G2 first round. Jackson Maloney and Evan Colao led the way for Madison. Maloney scored a team-high 21 points while Colao dropped 19 points. Madison will play against fifth-seeded Science Park in the quarterfinals on Monday.

3. Jefferson- The seventh-seeded Falcons took care of business with a 59-43 win against 10th seeded Westwood in the N1G2 first round. Jeff Evans had another strong performance with 21 points in the win. Jefferson will have a tough test when they face second seeded Glen Rock in the quarterfinals on Monday.

4. High Point- The sixth-seeded Wildcats prevailed in a close 51-47 win over 11th seeded West Milford in the N1G2 first round. Brayden Franko continued to put up big numbers with another 20 points in the victory. High Point will face third-seeded Vernon in the quarterfinals on Monday.

5. Mountain Lakes- The ninth-seeded Lakers upset eighth-seeded Passaic Charter 69-63 in the N1G1 first round. Mountain Lakes got out to a fast 29-15 start to set the tone after the first quarter. Ben Miniter scored 16 points to lead the Lakers. Mountain Lakes will look to shocktop-seeded Paterson Charter in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

TOP 5 LARGE SCHOOLS (GROUP IIIIVV & NON-PUBLIC)

1. Delbarton- The fourth-seeded Green Wave dominated against 13th-seeded Newark Academy 70-26 in the Non-Public A first round. Delbarton built a commanding 36-13 lead at the half and did not look back. Lincoln Zimmerman had nine points, seven rebounds and five assists. The Green Wave extended their winning streak to eight games. Delbarton will host fifth-seeded Hudson Catholic in the quarterfinals on Monday.

2. Morris Catholic- The Crusaders lost a close one to a good Union Catholic team in the regular season finale. Union Catholic was led by Elijah Peters’ 29 points. Union Catholic won 77-71. The top seeded Crusaders will host eight-seeded Saddle River Day in the Non-Public B quarterfinals on Monday.

3. Mendham- The sixth-seeded Minutemen were paced by star players Brendan Brunnock and Kevin King in their 61-46 win over 11th-seeded Orange. Brunnock exploded for a career-high 26 points and King scored 18 points with nine rebounds and four assists. Mendham will look for anupset when they take on third-seeded Colonia in the N2G3 quarterfinals on Tuesday.

4. Chatham- The eighth-seeded Cougars ran past ninth-seeded Randolph 69-50 in the N2G3 first round. Ryan Leach and Michael MacAniff stepped up big for Chatham. Leach scored 19 points and MacAniff added 18 points of his own. Chatham used a 22-13 third quarter to separate themselves from Randolph. The Cougars will try to contain star player Nick Amitie when they face top-seeded Cranford in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

5. Morris Knolls- Justin Hanson’s 23 points carried the seventh-seeded Golden Eagles over 10th-seeded Wayne Hills 54-48 in the N1G3 first round. Brody Halik contributed with a double-double that included 15 points and 10 rebounds. Morris Knolls pulled away from Wayne Hills by outscoring them 32-25 in the second half. The Golden Eagles will look to extend their six-game winning streak, when they play at second-seeded Northern Highlands in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
