• Bridgewater-Raritan– The No. 9th ranked Panthers are currently on a five-game winning streak. Senior Matthew Fattore went 3-3 with two doubles and four RBIs against Rutgers Prep. Bridgewater-Raritan will host Watchung Hills in the Somerset County Tournament Semifinals on Monday.
  • Cherry Hill West- The Lions played an outstanding week of baseball. They went from being ranked No. 7 to No. 3. Cherry Hill West knocked off top-ranked Gloucester Catholic 2-0. The Lions then followed it up with a win over No. 6th ranked Delsea. Both games were part of the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic. Senior pitcher Ryder Garino was unbelievable in the two victories. Garino threw a complete game shutout against Gloucester Catholic and struck out ten against Delsea.
  • Gloucester Catholic– The Rams had their perfect season come to an end in their 2-0 loss against Cherry Hill West. They were the top-ranked team in the state and now they are No. 4. Junior Jack Mustaro helped lead the Rams to a 2-1 walk-off win in 8 innings over Kingsway. Gloucester Catholic has a big showdown coming up against Delbarton. The teams will meet at Delbarton on Thursday, May 23rd.
  • North Hunterdon- Senior centerfielder Nick Hernandez was the hero in the Lions’ 8-5 walk-off win in 11 innings over Phillipsburg. Hernandez mashed a three-run home run to help North Hunterdon capture their first Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex title since 2016. The game had everything you could want in a championship matchup. There was plenty of great pitching and clutch hitting all around.
  • Wall- The Crimson Knights extended their winning streak to eight games. Wall defeated Brick Memorial 6-4 in the Shore Conference Tournament Round of 16. Sophomore outfielder John Catanio went 1-3 with a two-run single. Wall will travel to face Southern in the Semifinals of the Shore Conference Tournament. 
  • Southern- The Rams have won eight of their past nine games. Mike Kaczynski was perfect in Southern’s 13-6 win over Marlboro. Kaczynski went 3-3 with three singles and 3 RBIs. Southern will look to advance to the Final Round of the Shore Conference Tournament when they host Wall. 
  • Red Bank Catholic- The Caseys have won four of their past five games. Junior pitcher Ryan Prior threw a five-inning shutout in a 12-0 win over Middletown North. Prior struck out seven batters. The teams met in the Monmouth County Tournament Semifinals. Red Bank Catholic will face Christian Brothers in the Shore Conference Tournament Semifinals.
  • Monmouth- The Falcons have won four straight games. Senior outfielder Mike Milevoi was clutch against Freehold Borough. Milevoi went 2-3 with a home run and a single. He had two RBIs. Monmouth won 12-2.
  • Point Pleasant Beach- The Garnet Gulls have struggled a bit recently but still own a 19-4 record. Senior outfielder and first baseman John Coakley went 2-4 with 3 RBIs in an 8-0 win over Barnegat. Coakley had a single and a double.
  • Haddon Heights- The Garnets have been on fire in May. They are on a nine-game winning streak. Haddon Heights blew out Paulsboro 14-1. Senior catcher Cameron Simon hit his first varsity home run in the win. The home run was a three-run blast. Simon went 1-3 and had two walks as well.

North Highlights of the Week:

  • Newly ranked No. 1 Delbarton defeated Chatham 3-0 to capture their 5th straight Morris County Tournament Title. Senior Aiden Dill was lights out once again in the MCT. Dill threw six innings of shutout baseball and struck out seven. He only allowed two hits.
  • No. 2 ranked Don Bosco Prep took down No. 10 ranked Morris Knolls 8-1. Junior Nick Becker led the Ironmen with three RBI. Becker belted two big doubles on the day. The matchup featured two great North Jersey teams with a lot of pedigree.
