It’s February, but for us at Garden State sports and for the super football conference, it’s always a good time to talk about football. The super football conference schedule for all the teams have been released. We will present them here and detail our favorite matchup for the season. WESTWOOD CARDINALS- AMERICAN RED WEEK 0- VS MAHWAH WEEK 1- @ PASCACK VALLEY WEEK 2- @ PASCACK HILLS WEEK 3- VS CALDWELL WEEK 4- @ DUMONT WEEK 5- @ WEEQUAHIC WEEK 6- BYE WEEK 7- VS RAMSEY WEEK 8- VS RIVER DELL Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 1 @ Pascack Valley Peter Fifoot- The difficulty of Westwoods schedule has definitely risen, after such success with Bobby Koch, and losing their starting quarterback to college, there are several talented opponents the Cardinals will have to face like Caldwell and Weequahic. However Pascack Valley as a group 3 school is one that can physically play with Westwood and in a Bergen County rivalry game, their matchup will be the game of the week. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule – Week 4 Vs. Caldwell Christian Copen- Whenever you go toe to toe with Caldwell, it’s always gonna be a fun matchup. Two teams that I’m looking for another star quarterback at the helm, and two teams that have been historically very successful. Which Rookie QB has got the edge, we shall see but this is definitely the most intriguing matchup. MOUNTAIN LAKES LAKERS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0- VS WEEQUAHIC WEEK 1- VS PEQUANNOCK WEEK 2- @ HANOVER PARK WEEK 3- VS LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 4- @ BOONTON WEEK 5- @ MADISON WEEK 6- BYE WEEK 7 VS MORRIS CATHOLIC WEEK 8 @ NEWTON Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 vs Lenape Valley Mountain Lakes is coming off the most successful season in team history, only losing twice in the regular season and winning their first complete state championship in football history. A lot of great players will be leaving like running back Ian Redzapagic, Cosmo Fusco, but this team still brings a lot of talent back. A couple of great rivalry games to note on the schedule, like the typical great game against Boonton, but the matchup of the schedule is the week three game against Lenape Valley where they opened up against last year and ended up trailing at halftime before surging in the second half. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 0 vs. Weequahic Christian Copen – Wow, this is gonna be fun. Two teams that like to score a lot of points on the offensive side and have tremendous run games. I expect both upcoming Junior running backs to have very successful seasons and this game is going to determine a lot. Can this former state championship winning defense in the Herd hold up to the most high-powered offenses in NJ with Weequahic? Sure we quick graduated a lot but this offense is still scary. And the Herd of course are still the herd, they can run with anyone. I’m really looking forward to this one. SUSSEX TECH MUSTANGS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS NEWTON WEEK 2- @ HACKETTSTOWN WEEK 3- VS WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 4- @ HOPATCONG WEEK 5- VS LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 6 @ KITTATINNY WEEK 7 VS HIGH POINT WEEK 8 @ PEQUANNOCK Peter’s game of the Schedule- Week 3 vs Wallkill Valley This is a rematch from last year’s game between these two teams, where the Rangers won it with two minutes left, it was a barn burner of a game, and with both teams who were young last year getting good playoff success, this matchup will be prolific again. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 8 @ Pequannock Sussex tech had a very impressive season last year, winning their first playoff game in franchise history. And they will only continue to keep improving this season. The reason why I choose this game specifically is because there are going to be so many playoff implications on the line. Pequannock carries over a lot of returning stars from last year‘s team. Although graduating Andrew Baker hurts, you still have a 1000 yd rusher in Brian Gruber returning. He is going to be the recipe for success for the Sussex Tech mustang offense. This high leverage game is sure to be a fun one. KINNELON COLTS- NATIONAL BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1 @ VERONA WEEK 2 VS WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 3 @ WHIPPANY PARK WEEK 4 VS PEQUANNOCK WEEK 5 VS BOONTON WEEK 6 @ HOPATCONG WEEK 7 VS MALCOLM X SHABAZZ WEEK 8 @ NORTH WARREN Peter’s game of the Schedule- Week 4 vs Pequannock The Colts are coming off one of their best regular seasons in program history, finishing second in the division last year. They definitely will be looking forward to an important game against the school only 15 minutes away from them, Pequannock. The Golden Panthers also won the division last season, so there will be some incentive. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 7 Vs. Malcolm X Shabazz Two teams that normally don’t play each other very often but two teams that have a very powerful offense. While Shabazz is graduating a lot of kids, they are still known to have a great team year in and year out, and on the other side, Kinnelon had a very nice season last year that they are looking to improve on. And with playoff implications on the line, certainly a game you will not want to miss. VERONA HILLBILLIES- NATIONAL RED WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1 VS KINNELON WEEK 2 @ CEDAR GROVE WEEK 3 VS NEWARK COLLEGIATE WEEK 4 @ NEWARK CENTRAL WEEK 5 @ HOBOKEN WEEK 6 VS NEW PROVIDENCE WEEK 7 @ GLEN RIDGE WEEK 8 VS MALCOLM X SHABAZZ Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Cedar Grove Verona absolutely has Momentum coming into this season after a revitalizing playoff appearance last year effectively ending the rebuild. Their early season matchup against their bitter rivals Cedar Grove Panthers, will be quite a test for them not only to get Group One PowerPoints, but for bragging rights and a leg up in the division. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 1 Vs. Kinnelon Another one with Kinnelon on the list for me. I really like the direction of where the Colts are headed, but how about HILLBILLY NATION! They are for a bounce back season and I think that starts with their 2000 yard passer Connor Demasi. Look for him to continue to improve this season as well as the rest of this hillbilly squad. LINCOLN LIONS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS MALCOLM X SHABAZZ WEEK 2- @ WEEQUAHIC WEEK 3- VS ORANGE WEEK 4- VS BLOOMFIELD WEEK 5 @ WEST SIDE WEEK 6 @ DWIGHT MORROW WEEK 7 VS IMMACULATA WEEK 8 @ SNYDER Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 7 vs Immaculata Lincoln is coming off a very solid year, an explosion of points in the final stretch scoring over 50 points in 3 of their last 4 games including winning a playoff game against Warren Hills. Immaculata offers one of the most trying tests with an elite defensive line against the Lions’ great rushing attacks. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Weequahic If you like offense, this is the game for you. Two teams that were both playoff bound in 2023 that I expect to continue to improve in 2024, how much though this game will determine a lot. PARSIPPANY RED HAWKS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS BOONTON WEEK 2- @ PEQUANNOCK WEEK 3- VS HIGH POINT WEEK 4- @ HANOVER PARK WEEK 5- @ MORRIS CATHOLIC WEEK 6- VS MADISON WEEK 7- @ WEST SIDE WEEK 8- VS HOPATCONG Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 1 vs Boonton The Red Hawks experience will be tested this year with a schedule that includes several unfamiliar opponents and will be a good challenge. Boonton is not one of teams, Regan had a great season last year for Parsipanny and they will have to keep up solid quarterbacking against a physical Bombers team on the rise. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- High Point With a High Point Square that is going to be much improved from last season in the Parsippany RedHawks continuation of development with their players, such as Kevin Regan, this is going to be a big test for both teams in week 3. PEQUANNOCK GOLDEN PANTHERS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 2- VS PARSIPPANY WEEK 3- @ RAMSEY WEEK 4- @ KINNELON WEEK 5- VS HANOVER PARK WEEK 6- VS MORRIS CATHOLIC WEEK 7- @ MADISON WEEK 8- VS SUSSEX TECH Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 @ Ramsey Pequannock is coming off a very successful regular season and a division crown. The Wing T offense is a staple in group two and Ramsey runs it as well which is good for Pequannock to play as well as a local untraditional rivalry with a cross Morris and Bergen matchup. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 5 Vs. Hanover Park This was a huge game last year and I expect it to be another big game this year. With quarterback Joey Borrello showing big improvements, and this rush game with Dylan Roemele we’re bound for another fun one in Pompton Plains. MADISON DODGERS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0 OPEN WEEK 1 VS HANOVER PARK WEEK 2 @ MENDHAM WEEK 3 VS CEDAR GROVE WEEK 4 @ LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 5 VS MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 6 @ PARSIPPANY WEEK 7 VS PEQUANNOCK WEEK 8 @ MORRIS CATHOLIC Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Mendham This is a rematch from last year and the Dodgers will be looking for revenge. Madison finished the regular season on a hot streak, they will look to start a lot better, but will have a challenge matching up the defensive line against Cole Capuzzi and Kevin King. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 1 Vs. Hanover park Madison is going to be tested straight out the gate this season. I am very intrigued to see who the new starter at QB is going to be. Will it be the brother of Jack McGuire Luke, or will they go in a different direction. Regardless, this Madison team will continue to improve and they can potentially open up the season with a statement against Hanover Park. HANOVER PARK HORNETS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ MADISON WEEK 2- VS MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 3- @ GLEN RIDGE WEEK 4- VS PARSIPPANY WEEK 5- @ PEQUANNOCK WEEK 6- VS JEFFERSON WEEK 7- VS WEST ESSEX WEEK 8 @ WEEQUAHIC Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 vs Mountain Lakes Last year’s matchup was an instant classic and the Hornets upset over the eventual state champions gave Hanover Park surplus powerpoints. The Herd will be looking for some revenge in an early divisional bout in East Hanover. Christian Copen’s Game of the Schedule- Week 7 against West Essex This one is going to be really fun. MORRIS CATHOLIC CRUSADERS- AMERICAN WHITE WEEK 0 @ TEANECK WEEK 1 VS GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC WEEK 2 VS ST FRANCES (NY) WEEK 3 @ MAHWAH WEEK 4 BYE WEEK 5 VS PARSIPANNY WEEK 6 @ PEQUANNOCK WEEK 7 @ MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 8 VS MADISON WEEK 9 VS HUDSON CATHOLIC Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 8 vs Madison Last season Morris Catholic had a tough loss to Madison but definitely showed promise as they continued to battle in that football game. Some redemption could be up for grabs for the Crusaders. PASCACK HILLS- AMERICAN RED WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ MAHWAH WEEK 2- VS WESTWOOD WEEK 3- @ TEANECK WEEK 4- VS RAMSEY WEEK 5 @ DWIGHT MORROW WEEK 6 VS DOVER WEEK 7 @ DUMONT WEEK 8 VS HOBOKEN Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 6 vs Dover The Cowboys have been put into a new division and are out of the Ivy red with a lot of competition in Bergen county. In week six however, they will face a previous divisional opponent, the Dover Tigers. This will be a huge game and will scope out how these two teams are at that point of the year. DWIGHT MORROW MAROON RAIDERS- AMERICAN RED WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ RAMSEY WEEK 2- VS DUMONT WEEK 3- VS MILLBURN WEEK 4- @ JOHN F. KENNEDY WEEK 5- VS PASCACK HILLS WEEK 6- VS LINCOLN WEEK 7- @ MAHWAH WEEK 8- @ GLEN RIDGE Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 vs Millburn The Maroon Raiders have been given a schedule where they are playing in divisional games and out of division matchups which will give them experience playing similar teams to them. Millburn is one of those teams and the Millers are going to try to build off a season where they made the Group 4 Consolation semifinals, and it will be a great challenge for Dwight Morrow. MAHWAH THUNDERBIRDS- AMERICAN RED WEEK 0 @ WESTWOOD WEEK 1 VS PASCACK HILLS WEEK 2 VS RAMSEY WEEK 3 VS MORRIS CATHOLIC WEEK 4 @ WEST MILFORD WEEK 5 @ DUMONT WEEK 6 BYE WEEK 7 VS DWIGHT MORROW WEEK 8 @ PARAMUS Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 0 @ Westwood This will be an incredible early matchup between two huge Bergen County Divisional titans. The Thunderbirds will be going against a huge rival that won the state championship which will decide a lot of PowerPoints early on. RAMSEY RAMS- AMERICAN RED WEEK 0 @ FLORIDA WEEK 1 VS DWIGHT MORROW WEEK 2 @ MAHWAH WEEK 3 VS PEQUANNOCK WEEK 4 @ PASCACK HILLS WEEK 5 BYE WEEK 6 VS LAKELAND WEEK 7 @ WESTWOOD WEEK 8 VS DUMONT Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 6 vs Lakeland This matchup will be a big game between two group 2 schools that were in the playoffs last year. This will be in the season for the Rams and against a battle tested, Lakeland squad, there will be a lot to take from this matchup. DUMONT HUSKIES-AMERICAN RED WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS TEANECK WEEK 2- @ DWIGHT MORROW WEEK 3- @ BERGENFIELD WEEK 4- VS WESTWOOD WEEK 5- VS MAHWAH WEEK 6- @ PARAMUS WEEK 7- VS PASCACK HILLS WEEK 8- @ RAMSEY Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 6 @ Paramus Dumont is coming off a season where they made the playoffs, but lost in the first round to Westwood. The Huskies will look to increase their win total and against a team like Paramus who finished similarly in Group 3 the effort will rise. HIGH POINT WILDCATS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS HACKETTSTOWN WEEK 2- @ KITTATINNY WEEK 3- @ PARSIPPANY WEEK 4- VS NEWTON WEEK 5- VS VERNON WEEK 6- @ LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 7- @ SUSSEX TECH WEEK 8- VS WHIPPANY PARK Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Kittatinny Will Nahan was hired as the new coach of High Point and brings a pedigree of winning from Randolph and is going to be building a great program at High Point. Kittatinny is a big rival in Sussex County that is going to get a lot out of this. High Point program and will be a great matchup early in the season. NEWTON BRAVES- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ SUSSEX TECH WEEK 2- VS LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 3- VS SPARTA WEEK 4- @ HIGH POINT WEEK 5- @ JEFFERSON WEEK 6- VS HACKETTSTOWN WEEK 7- @ KITTATINNY WEEK 8- VS MOUNTAIN LAKES Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 vs Sparta This is a huge rematch for two of the better football teams in Sussex County. Newton’s loss in the final game of the regular season last year to Sparta cost the Braves, a higher division title, and essentially sent the Spartans into the playoffs. Newton will be looking for revenge in a big rivalry. KITTATINNY COUGARS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 2- VS HIGH POINT WEEK 3- VS NORTH WARREN WEEK 4- @ WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 5- @ HACKETTSTOWN WEEK 6- VS SUSSEX TECH WEEK 7- VS NEWTON WEEK 8- @ DOVER Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 7 vs Newton The battle of Newton is always a physical and tactical affair, this one even more so because it will be later in the year, and the cougars are on their way up, and Newton has been seen as a power for a long time in Sussex County. This being the second to last game for Kittatinny, it is verbatim how important this game is. LENAPE VALLEY PATRIOTS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS KITTATINNY WEEK 2- @ NEWTON WEEK 3- @ MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 4- VS MADISON WEEK 5- @ SUSSEX TECH WEEK 6- VS HIGH POINT WEEK 7- @ HACKETTSTOWN WEEK 8- VS WALLKILL VALLEY Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 8 vs Wallkill Valley Last season these two teams met, and the Patriots were just able to outlast the Rangers in a game that was very important for Lenape Valley to get to the playoffs. With this game being the final game of the regular season and also in Stanhope, it will be extremely vital. HACKETTSTOWN TIGERS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ HIGH POINT WEEK 2- VS SUSSEX TECH WEEK 3- @ MORRIS HILLS WEEK 4- VS NORTH WARREN WEEK 5- VS KITTATINNY WEEK 6- @ NEWTON WEEK 7- VS LENAPE VALLEY WEEK 8- @ WARREN HILLS Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 8 @ Warren Hills This is one of the premier rivalries in Warren county, after a tough season last year to get the Blue Streaks at home will be huge for Hackettstown. This game will also be big for acquiring PowerPoints. MALCOLM X SHABAZZ BULLDOGS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ LINCOLN WEEK 2- VS WEST SIDE WEEK 3- VS HOBOKEN WEEK 4- VS IMMACULATA WEEK 5- @ SNYDER WEEK 6 VS CALDWELL WEEK 7 @ KINNELON WEEK 8 @ VERONA THANKSGIVING VS WEEQUAHIC Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Thanksgiving vs Weequahic This is one of the best rivalries in all of New Jersey. Given the success that the Bulldogs had last year and how their season ended to the Indians, this game will take on even more significance than it already does. The solo is extremely vital to both of these football teams, and Malcolm X Shabazz is going to be coming out flying in this football game. SNYDER TIGERS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS NEWARK CENTRAL WEEK 2- @ NEWARK COLLEGIATE WEEK 3- @ WEST SIDE WEEK 4- @ HUDSON CATHOLIC WEEK 5- VS MALCOLM X SHABBAZ WEEK 6- @ IMMACULATA WEEK 7- VS WEEQUAHIC WEEK 8- VS LINCOLN Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 8 vs Lincoln Snyder had a good season last year with a Consolation Semifinal appearance. It will be a big test against the Lions, a team of that pedigree definitely the measuring stick on this Snyder team. WEEQUAHIC INDIANS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0- @ MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 1- @ CEDAR GROVE WEEK 2- VS LINCOLN WEEK 3- @ IMMACULATA WEEK 4- VS WEST SIDE WEEK 5- VS WESTWOOD WEEK 6- BYE WEEK 7- @ SNYDER WEEK 8- VS HANOVER PARK Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 0 @ Mountain Lakes The Indians have a very complex and difficult schedule and it will be great for such a successful program to face a large number of successful football teams. One of those teams are Mountain Lakes, this is a massive matchup, it really will outline how good the Indians can be and how much of a force they can be in Group 1. WESTSIDE ROUGH RIDERS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0 VS COLUMBIA WEEK 1 @ HOBOKEN WEEK 2 @ MALCOLM X SHABAZZ WEEK 3 VS SNYDER WEEK 4 @ WEEQUAHIC WEEK 5 VS LINCOLN WEEK 6 @ BARRINGER WEEK 7 VS PARSIPPANY WEEK 8 @ IMMACULATA Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Malcolm X Shabazz West Side has had a big rivalry with Shabazz for a long time in the city of Newark. Especially with the theme of Nasir Smith playing for both teams in the past, the intensity in this rivalry will be incredible. IMMACULATA SPARTANS- NATIONAL WHITE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- BYE WEEK 2- @ HOLY TRINITY WEEK 3- VS WEEQUAHIC WEEK 4- @ MALCOLM X SHABAZZ WEEK 5- VS HUDSON CATHOLIC WEEK 6- VS SNYDER WEEK 7- @ LINCOLN WEEK 8- VS WEST SIDE WEEK 9- @ ST. MARY’S RUTHERFORD Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ Holy Trinity The Spartans are planning on an offensive explosion this season and have many talented teams to go try their best at. Holy Trinity will be a great test for Immaculata and will also be good to give the Spartans Catholic league competition. BOONTON BOMBERS- NATIONAL BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ PARSIPPANY WEEK 2- VS WHIPPANY PARK WEEK 3- @ HOPATCONG WEEK 4- VS MOUNTAIN LAKES WEEK 5- @ KINNELON WEEK 6- VS NORTH WARREN WEEK 7 @ WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 8 VS CEDAR GROVE Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 4 vs Mountain Lakes Boonton’s rivalry with the Lakers is one of the purest and best in New Jersey. Both towns touch each other and is always a very tough competitive match up, and met in the playoffs 2 two years ago and this game will be a big watershed matchup for the Bombers. HOPATCONG CHIEFS- NATIONAL BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- @ MANVILLE WEEK 2- @ NORTH WARREN WEEK 3- VS BOONTON WEEK 4- SUSSEX TECH WEEK 5- @ WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 6- VS KINNELON WEEK 7- VS WHIPPANY PARK WEEK 8- @ PARSIPPANY Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 2 @ North Warren Hopatcong is in their first year out of the Ivy Red and in a new division, which will combine new and older rivalries. The Chiefs are a very run oriented team just like North Warren. The two towns are not too far from each other and the early season matchup in Blairstown, will be quite interesting. WHIPPANY PARK WILDCATS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS GLEN RIDGE WEEK 2- @ BOONTON WEEK 3- VS KINNELON WEEK 4- VS JEFFERSON WEEK 5- @ NORTH WARREN WEEK 6- VS WALLKILL VALLEY WEEK 7- @ HOPATCONG WEEK 8- @ HIGH POINT Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 vs Kinnelon Kinnelon had a huge win against the Wildcats last year and one Whippany Park will like to forget. The success they will gain after their back year hinges on the success they have against Kinnelon and it will be a must win for Whippany Park. WALLKILL VALLEY RANGERS- AMERICAN BLUE WEEK 0- OPEN WEEK 1- VS NORTH WARREN WEEK 2- @ KINNELON WEEK 3- @ SUSSEX TECH WEEK 4- VS KITTATINNY WEEK 5- VS HOPATCONG WEEK 6- @ WHIPPANY PARK WEEK 7- VS BOONTON WEEK 8- @ LENAPE VALLEY Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 4 vs Kittatinny Last season these teams met in the final game of the year, a game that cost the Rangers playoff position due to the defensive domination of the Cougars. Wallkill Valley got a great season last year from Zack Clarken, now with a dual threat quarterback in his second full year as a starter, the Rangers will be looking for a different result in this matchup. The Lancers have a lot riding on this season. There is a lot to gain hosting a same group and regional rival in West Orange. This definitely will be a huge early season test for Livingston. They had a very tough loss to PCTI in the sectional final, and this game against Union City will be big, because the Soaring Eagles have a similar physical offense. There’s also going to be a lot to gain since both are Group 5 schools and could see each other later in the playoffs as well as only being about 25 minutes from one another, and this being on the big blue roof in Union City, will be as big as a game that Montclair plays. Kennedy Barringer had a great running game last year and that physical play as well as the performance of the offensive line helped their success last year. They will be playing against a very fast defense in John F.Kennedy, and that will be a great late season test for both teams. The Lancers are also on their way up so this will be a pivotal game for Bloomfield in nearby Livingston. There really isn’t a tougher task than a big midseason bout against Irvington. The Columbia fans will be loud,it will be a fantastic game. That’s going to come to head with a big home game against the Jaguars. The fans will be on the Red Raiders side, but this is going to be a really tough, exhilarating game. Bayonne has a similar linebacker, core and ball hawking defense to Elizabeth and you are looking at a home opener featuring two very feisty teams, buckle up folks. And when you talk about physical, demanding football teams, both Union City and Irvington fit the Bill. Both of these teams have had many great rivalry games at that blue roof in Union City. In 2024,this matchup will be no exception. They both have great running backs, very physical, wide receivers and they play tough defense. Both of these teams have scrimmage in the past in the summer and four teams on the opposite side of the state. It is one of those very early season matchups that can tell you a lot about this Blue Knights football team. Coach Ashley “Smoke” Pierre, had his football team, playing tough throughout every game last year, and this promises to be another excellent season for Irvington. It also increases the intensity of the rivalry that a large number of Paterson natives do go to PCTI. PCTI had a big win last year against the Ghosts, and an upset against the Bulldogs could do very well for Paterson Eastside as the season goes along. KENNEDY WEEK 8- VS PCTI Peter’s Game of the Schedule- Week 3 @ Nutley Both the Indians and the Raiders have advantageous defensive lines, neither of these teams are that familiar with each other, but an inter-division matchup early in the year may help decide where the future of Passaic and Nutley ends up, this will be a good physical game in Essex County. Kennedy really started to show flashes at the end of the year of an athletic vicarious offense. I believe you are going to see more of this offense and the tools of its disposal as the season comes along. The Bengals are a team that has a similar record, and will be a watermark of a game to see what John F. Kennedy is capable of in 2024. This game against PCTI is Another game of rivalry significance. The Bulldogs have had a long winning streak against their rivals from Clifton and this Mustangs team is on the come up, their offense really shined last year, despite their first round loss to Westfield. What a way to gear up for the playoffs with a huge road game against one of the best teams in the state, the Passaic County Technical Institute Bulldogs.
